Ireland shines beautifully in the autumnal sun... I adore it when the summer rainy season is over and I can kiss the emerald green of our lovely country.
I mitched of work a couple of hours early today, and walked around the castle, the old dovecoat and the cliffs. I heard an alien sound but familiar sound..we never had crickets in Ireland before. Odd, I thought as I moved on thinking if I came across any snakes they would have to clone St. Patrick again.
Well, if the weather is nice tomorrow morning.. I may get to do it all over again! And before i go to work!

Overheard in a shoe shop earlier this morning.. A scruffy looking sales man tells a customer, "well, i wear them so they will do for you too". ..Remind me never to buy a pair of shoes from that disHevelled character! Nothing 'just does' for my family, friends or me for that matter! Some companies just ought to send their sales people to be trained!

After discussion with a colleague earlier today I am thinking that if anyone has been immortalised then it could be someone like Mick Jagger. That man has been going since before I got on the music scene and he is still making headline news! He came from a society where they took peace and love out of the gutter and integrated it into society as a norm. He has my respect.

I hope the Microsoft slate will not be long arriving on the market as I am not sure I would like to buy another I-Pad as a Christmas present for hubby. As I mentioned below I think the IPad is overpriced, and well it would be good to have a slate that has the capability of using the many pen drives I have instead of having to upload it to a secure location. As I said below slate technology and cloud computing is still in it's infancy.
Don't read me wrong... I am not knocking the IPad as it is a fantastic piece of kit! It's just I'd like to hold off buying another one until I see what microsoft has to offer.
Have a 1st edition of a unique slate system no matter who the developer is will always be a valuable antique one day.

Shame on her! 17:06:28 - Aug 23 2010 Times Read: 780
Ahem! I really think some people are deplorable! and this woman belongs in the rubbish bin, and not the poor adorable wee kitten! I am so happy she was observed on camera doing what she did!
Thank goodness for SKY news as :
Footage has been unveiled showing a woman dumping a helpless kitten in a wheelie bin for no apparent reason.
Woman Caught On CCTV Dumping Kitten In Bin
Enlarge photo .The cruel act was caught on CCTV by the cat's owners, Daryll and Stephanie Mann, at their Coventry home.
They discovered the trapped cat when they heard her cries and decided to check the footage from their security camera to see how she ended up in the bin.
They believed Lola - who is not yet a year old - must have been dumped by drunken louts.
But when they saw the video, they were shocked to discover it was the work of a middle-aged woman.
The grey-haired lady is caught petting the animal on camera, before looking around to see if she is being watched.
As Lola walks along the wall lining the Mann's front garden, the woman lifts the lid of the wheelie bin, picks the cat up by the scruff of her neck and throws her in before walking off.
Mr Mann said: "I was shocked how someone could do something like that to an animal, I know some people don't like cats but you wouldn't expect them to do that to an animal that can't defend itself."
The attack happened at 7.55pm on Saturday and the kitten was trapped for nearly 16 hours before she was dicovered by the Manns who were heading out for Sunday lunch.
"I'm surprised at it being a lady I expected it was someone drunk coming back from the pub, but when I saw that, it's mad," said Mr Mann.
Coventry Police said they had been alerted to what had happened and had passed the matter to the RSPCA.

The I-Pad so far... 20:26:21 - Aug 22 2010 Times Read: 798
So, for those of you who wanted to know how I viewed the I-Pad after using it for a while... well, for me it fits the purpose nicely but I am still learning about it and the applications I can download. I am still trying how to figure out inputing data into an audit form I use whilst I am out auditing. However, it is lightweight and functional whilst I am out on walkabouts.
The keyboard is clear and easily seen, however the touch sensitivity can sometimes lead to mistakes, and it's easy to switch to another application in error. Maybe there is a lock key, but I still have to find it.
I have been able to print documents.. it is easy to sync into the wireless network, and as a reader it is beautiful. A nice relaxation tool which you can also play games on.
Price wise... well my personal opinion is that it is overpriced by at least a hundred pounds or so. I miss being able to plug in a pendrive as I work a lot from those. I-Pad does not have that option and my immediate thought was it was a bit too expensive not to have!
We were going to purchase two, but we have decided to hold of on the second one for hubby until Microsoft releases, "The Slate" We would like to get one of those and run pc orientated software.
We appreciate the Apple I-Pad is in its infancy.. there is scope and room for improvement and it would be my recommendation to hold of until MkII comes on the shelf and the prices lower by at least a hundred before purchasing it.
For myself, its the best auditing tool I have ever had and I am still over the moon about it. It works for me :) Roll on the Slate though!

Autumn is approaching. I noticed this today as the leaves are turning colour and well, the rains are stopping. I always look forward to this time of year in Ireland, as Dominic does also. It creates interesting colours and scenes for his professional photography.
Anyway, the best part of autumn is the kindness of the weather and we finally get to see some sunshine! Sighs, I always love this kind of year. I wish I had my pets back..they loved long lovely walks along the beach on days like that. I miss them.

Its not that I have lost sight of my dreams, but i get a feeling that personally I have done enough..and well now I am beginning to think that maybe I should really, really be thinking about giving all this study and exams up. Not, that I am closing my mind, nor lacking confidence in my chosen subject but it's more like I have reached saturation point. Surely there must come a time in your life when you can take some time out and just reflect on your achievements without having to do anymore.
This past three days was 12plus hours of study each day.. My brain is fried.

As some of you know I left Ireland today to go to England for a quick study/exam course for 3 days. Well! I decided to stay at a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel because it was close to the business park I was going to and could walk there in the morning and back for excerise.
So, talk about Fawlty Towers heh, when I arrived I had to wait outside and ring, and ring and ring the bell to get inside! Eventually this Indian with an attitude of 'tomorrow, tomorrow' answered the door and when I stepped inside there was a rancid smell between curry and dirty socks. Having the heart of a lion I ventured on, but I was alarmed when he asked for settlement for the three days prior to me even seeing my room!
So, he took me upstairs and opened the door into this umm
bedroom with an annexe were both windows faced a triple lane
motorway lol ..but to compensate for the noise levels coming from the road they put in two televisions! Haha
I was not impressed..the rooms were shambles, dirty and worse it was smelly. After he left, I had a look around..there was no locking system on the inside of the door, it was hot and tiny..the 'mugs' left for the tea and coffee had 'ring stains' in the inside. There was so soap, nor no towels in the room either.
Having real dry lips, I decided to brave it and walk down to the shops.. I think I got about 500 feet when I noticed hooded gangs hanging about and decided it was unsafe and turned back
to Fawlty Towers.
Once back there I called hubby who just said to leave and go to a proper place and use my IPad to get a proper hotel. Even if it wasn't nearby the business centre it was worth it to feel safe, so the nice hotel I have moved to called me a taxi and took me out of that place!
Hah, I had pulled a bed to the bedroom door door for security, and I was tempted not to put it back in place on the way out! I was lucky to escape without being bitten by bed bugs or the huge spider (not of this country's origin!) clambering in the hallway on the way out!

Someone said to me, watch the sky for shooting stars and a day later.. well I did. I was in awe as I saw the most beautiful big moving star glowing in the dark, and pondered how on earth I got so lucky to see that!
Then it got closer.. and bigger, so I figured *oops it is heading in this direction* so it got BIGGER even still.. and panic set in!
Duh.. then I saw red flashing lights as well, and thought well shooting stars don't have red strobe lights!! So, what turned out to be my shooting star was actually a helicopter in flight! Heh, heh, was I ever so glad!

We shall not cease from exploration and at end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. TS Eliot.
When I reflect on the above statement, I realise that I have been privileged and grateful that through working in the airlines that I had an opportunity to visit a large portion of the world. If I had not been so lucky in passing my interviews then coming from humble origins in my youth, my family could not have provided such an education for me as travelling the world and broadening my mind. My deep belief in karma provides for me in life, and so far she has been kind.
I am humbled with that but all of my travels and yearning for distAnt shores, I have found there is nowhere in the world like home.

More exams...Bring it on heh! 19:15:31 - Aug 13 2010 Times Read: 1119
Sometimes I really sit and wonder will it ever end ... ¥¥¥¥¥Grins¥¥¥¥¥ There again would I ever want it to? This insatiable quest for knowledge that I have is leading me to take a trip to England so I can sit Auditor conversion examinations so I can audit the environment also.
I will be gone three days.. And so here comes three days of exams. Sometimes CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is a curse but I do have one little relaxation scheme planned and that is because I have the IPad I have mobile Vampire Rave and Facebook. So..it will not be all work!

I knew someone once who gave me wise advise, "Do not put your jewels before pigs, for fear that they will be crushed under foot by the pigs whose attack will then be made against you". What a learned and astute man he is. I miss him.
I believe this to be a biblical saying, not that I looked it up or know the Bible verse by verse, but certainly it is a comforting thought in times of adversity.

Today I lost one deal due to not acting fast enough, but I gained by closing another one immediately. So, all things being said the day ended on a HIGH!
I lost the opportunity to buy Selling from MBK, due to some other person coming in and closing the offer. Well, I am delighted for him as he got a real good offer and more than I was willing to bid! So, I really really, really hope the bloke pulls it off. I wanted that account because I thought it would be such a wonderful prize to donate to Vampire Rave for any site competitions that may be run for Halloween or Christmas. Imagine someone's little face if they won that prize!!
So, that was the bad news...
This is the good news.
I have been out property hunting recently as the house prices have fallen away to a quarter of what the usual price was and the banks have released so many repos' ... I managed to find and purchase a three bedroom detached chalet today! Rental market is booming so I just got to get to the biz! Paperwork should be all through with in a few weeks, and I have the tenants eyed out for it already!!
So what aaaaaa day!

In the office, in the street, in church or where-ever would we walk by people we knew and not even acknowledge them with a nod of our head, a smile or a hello? I know that I would not be as rude as that. So, if we apply the same rules in a virtual life as those mannerisms we adapt in real life wouldn't it be apocalyptically rude to do so. I mean, I would be offended..wouldn't you? Hmmm, maybe it's my oversized ego..grins, but then what's wrong with that.
I content myself with the knowledge that those who blank me would never say fuck off to my face but be horrid, snidey pseudo-friends whom I would be better off without. Doesn't make it less rude though. Wankers.

Ian Huntley - found guilty of the murder of two little girls.. 00:26:43 - Aug 01 2010 Times Read: 1099
This makes me so, so, darn angry! A prisoner called Ian Huntley charged in a court of law of murdering two young girls is suing the government for 100,000 pounds for neglect of their duty of care in failing to prevent other prisoners from slitting his throat! Yet... The parents of the little girls who he murdered were only given 11,000 pounds in compensation.
This is all so grossly wrong surely... Shouldn't a prisoner give up his right to be treated as a human being after engaging in such a dastardly act. In my opinion, he should not have any rights!
