Rainbow sunsets glow below dusky skies
Ending each day with a final disguise
And this cold evening wind
That brings tears to my eyes
As I dream my cirrus dream
Of severed roots cut clean
Of flights of fancy and other things
To remove the strings
These unbreakable bonds
That bring me back
And will never forget
Mistakes
Regret
Instincts measured with a choking heart
Sinking stomach from the distance apart
But something brings me back
Forces stronger than this gravity
Something undefined, it has to be
That something that brings me back
When this evening wind fills my sails
These roots hold tight to no avail
My spirit still seeks the unknown
But my heart will be with you

Everything that is yet to be
